Building a Cheese Board

Building a cheese board is a fun, eye-opening experience.
Jensen Cheese would be happy to help you decide which
cheeses you would like for your board.

A few tips to help you out:

Cheese boards can be made in individual portions or as one
main cheese board where your guests serve themselves.

Cheese boards should have an odd number of cheeses on it
(3,5,7, etc.).  While there is no rule against even numbers, the
balance of odd numbers is visually pleasing.

Arrange the cheese from mildest to strongest either in a straight line from left-to-right or in a circle with the cheeses running in a clockwise position with the mildest cheese starting at 12 o’clock.  Blue cheese is often the strongest cheese on the board.

Other foods can intensify and even change the flavour of cheese.  Serve cheese with a variety of accompaniments like toasted nuts, slices of pear or apple, dried fruits, wine jellies and fruit cakes.  Crackers and breads are often used as a palate cleanser.

Make sure to serve a beverage with your cheese board.  Water and wine are the best choices.

Relax and enjoy the experience of getting to know cheese a little better!
